What We Do
Education Reform Campaigns
The Expectations Project partners with faith-motivated individuals, leaders, congregations and organizations to develop local and national campaigns that help enact transformational change for low-income public schools. We serve as conveners, thought partners and strategists who help identify the most influential plan of action. We equip and support our faith community partners by developing media campaigns, influencing local and national decision-makers and mobilizing people of faith to take action on key education issues.
Tools and Resources
The Expectations Project develops resources to educate faith-based communities about the scope of the achievement gap and provide compelling evidence that the problem can be solved. Our awareness building tools are uniquely grounded in language and principles that resonate with faith communities and can be incorporated in sermons, small group settings or congregation-wide.
Local Action
The Expectations Project’s website will connect people of faith with opportunities to take immediate action. Our website will recommend effective resources that help faith communities do everything from support local public schools with their time and resources, learn about effective tutoring programs in their local community or explore how to become a public school teacher.
Support Network
The Expectations Project will create a virtual network of like-minded faith-motivated advocates for education reform. The network facilitates best practice sharing about what’s working in congregations and local communities and provides encouragement to sustain our collective work.
